Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr.
Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr. was born and raised in Oakland, California. He graduated from Oakland Technical High School and Southeastern University (BS). He is the proud son of the late Bishop Ulysses S. King, Sr. and Tryphosa King, and grandson of the founders of the Christ Holy Sanctified Church (1910), Bishop Judge and Mother Sarah King. He is the last child of five elder siblings. Stephen, as he likes to be called, has a long, extended, and colorful professional resume in ministry and community work for over 39 years. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Africa preaching, teaching, and sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ. He has written a book entitled, “Running Away: The Memoir of a Bishop’s Son” (Westbow Press, 2015), a memoir of truth and relationship between a son and his father, and the church that defined them. He just recently published and edited a new book, “Fountainhead: The Beginning” (Xulon Press, 2020), a comprehensive narrative and history of the founding of the Christ Holy Sanctified Church.
Stephen is married to his beautiful and loving wife and best friend, Tiffany E. Grant King, who also serves as his administrative assistant. She’s been a member of Memorial Tabernacle Church for over 21 years. She was born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina. After graduation from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (BS), she moved to California to attend the University of California, Berkeley (MS) where she received a Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering. Tiffany has a long and impressive resume. Her training, employment, and educational background as a mechanical engineer with both academic research and industry experience in the areas of automotive, pharmaceutical, paper manufacturing, consumer products/goods. Her further interest is in technology engaged in challenges in STEM education, talent acquisition, and global business systems.
Stephen and Tiffany live happily together in their home in Oakland, California.
